scattered showers along the 680 near fremont and also into union city. this is what we are going see throughout the morning, pop-up showers throughout the bay area. the main cold front still lagging behind the system but a dry cold front will move through, may be falling apart. but behind that we have a lot of cold air. so here we go again. you will see the front move through and temperatures will be dropping around the bay area. outside cloudy, scattered showers right now. temperatures not too bad. it is 54 degrees in san jose. 56 in san francisco. and 52 degrees in concord. this afternoon, highs expected to be in the 50s, maybe some low 60s toward san jose and also in the mountain view area. so it looks like we'll finally catch a break toward the afternoon. but then it looks like a chance of showers to make a return as we head in toward the latter part of this week. in fact, things could get wet in the latter part of this week. that's the latest. back to you. >> all right, off-and-on rain isn't the only thing we have to be worried about this morning. it's windy especially on the ba

evening at san jose city college. s.w.a.t. teams swarmed the campus yesterday after a caller reported seeing a gunman. heavily armed police officers searched the campus room by room during a three-hour lockdown. the 911 call came in around 4:30 yesterday afternoon. the caller reported seeing a black male possibly armed with a gun at the tech center building. students and faculty were released from classrooms as officers searched the five- story building. for many on campus it was disturbing. >> we definitely barricaded down. we definitely sat there. we hushed our voices, got away from the windows, made sure we weren't near where anybody could look in. and we were worried. we were afraid. >> in the end, police were unable to find any indication that a gunman was on campus but officers say in the wake of the connecticut shooting, they were not taking any chances. >>> as more funerals are eld had for victims of the shooting in connecticut more details are emerging about adam lanza. workers at a newtown hair salon where lanza and his mother were customers said they never heard him speak.
